Classical Hematology Research
Researchers from the Cancer and Blood Diseases Institute at Cincinnati Children’s conduct numerous research projects. Our research improves treatment options and quality of life for patients with pediatric hematology conditions and other blood disorders. We partner with researchers across Cincinnati Children’s and around the world to better understand these conditions and bring innovations straight to patients’ bedsides.
We are researching pediatric hematology areas that include:
- Hemolytic anemia
- Immune thrombocytopenia purpura (ITP)
- Other rare anemias
The Classical Hematology program also supports a well-established registry for rare and hemolytic anemias to gather data to research these conditions.
This research means we are able to offer innovative treatment studies to patients. We offer hematology clinical trials and other research opportunities to eligible patients who want to be involved.
Our Classical Hematology team continues to identify new and exciting areas of research that will increase our understanding of pediatric blood disorders and improve the lives of our patients.
