Revolutionizing Access to Fragile Newborns
Cincinnati Children’s own Charles Dumoulin, PhD, a leading innovator in magnetic resonance imaging and professor of radiology, invented the Ascent3T MRI System. This novel MR scanner combines a compact design with powerful 3 Tesla imaging, providing clear, detailed images of vital anatomy like the brain, lungs, heart and abdomen—all directly within the neonatal intensive care unit. Once FDA cleared, this innovation will minimize the risks associated with transporting fragile newborns and will equip doctors with precise diagnostic insights essential for shaping better treatment plans and outcomes.
Eyas™ Medical Imaging is advancing this technology toward FDA clearance, positioning it for broader market adoption. “The Ascent3T redefines MRI capabilities for our smallest patients and has the potential to transform neonatal care,” Dumoulin shares. This project exemplifies the Innovation Ventures team's dedication to translating groundbreaking research into real-world solutions, validating Cincinnati Children’s reputation as a leader in healthcare innovation and a valuable partner for investors and industry collaborators.
