Curriculum and Schedule
- 40 hours per week for 12 months
- The primary location will be at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Office Building. Additionally, the fellow will also spend time doing competencies and clinics at several neighborhood locations.
- OT Fellowship hours consist of the following:
- Initial competencies
- LEND Program (August – April): 16 hours per week including clinical experiences 8 hours per week and didactic instruction 8 hours per week
- Fellowship Modules: 8 hours per week in the following settings - Rheumatology Clinic, Hand Therapy, Cerebral Palsy, Outpatient Neurorehabilitation Team, Home Care, Inpatient Behavioral Health, Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, and Research
- Outpatient Developmental Clinic: 16 hours per week
- Mentorship is provided throughout the LEND clinical experiences, fellowship modules, and mentoring meetings
LEND
The University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children’s LEND program provides specialized instruction and skill development in the following areas:
- Leadership: development of leadership skills related to your profession and in the service of individuals with developmental disabilities
- Interdisciplinary Training: learning through the multidisciplinary evaluation of a child about the role and responsibilities of other disciplines in the care of children with developmental disabilities
- Core Course on Developmental Disabilities: provides training in the life-course perspective, family centered care, social determinants of heath, disparities in health care, medical home, and policy and advocacy issues at the local, state and federal level
- Evidence Based Methods: participation in a team-based, faculty-led interdisciplinary research or community integration project including development and presentation of poster on the project
