Improving Child Health Through Research
Critical care medicine specialists at Cincinnati Children’s are improving the care kids receive in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) through cutting-edge research. Our researchers are dedicated to improving child health, whether studying functional mechanisms of disease, focusing on prevention, or developing novel diagnostic, therapeutic or care delivery strategies.
Cincinnati Children’s receives extensive research funding from the National Institutes of Health, research foundations and industry partners. Our researchers study serious conditions such as sepsis, multiorgan failure and acute respiratory disease syndrome. They also work to continuously improve our care team’s performance and enhance health at the community level. They publish in high-profile academic journals, deliver presentations at medical conferences and train physicians who want to specialize in critical care medicine.
