Biospecimen & Data Access Committee

Our Biospecimen & Data Access Committee reviews all requests from investigators for biospecimens and data housed within the biobank.

The committee has two key goals: That the biospecimen and data requests:

  1. Fit within Cincinnati Children’s institutional policies
  2. Facilitate scientifically ethical and relevant use

To ensure objectivity and integrity, the committee is an interdisciplinary team representing views from a variety of areas, including those skilled in genomic analysis, the patient / family and community perspective, representatives from the Discover Together Biobank and Cincinnati Children’s Division of Pathology, and those with regulatory expertise. The Biospecimen and data Access Committee is made up of four rotating interdisciplinary groups, each including five members.
