Plastic Surgery

The Division of Pediatric Plastic Surgery conducts research to understand craniofacial development, enhance wound healing, and optimize clinical outcomes. The Lan lab investigates the mechanisms and the pathogenesis of facial clefting. The goal is to develop strategies for the treatment and prevention of craniofacial anomalies. Our translational research efforts aim to modulate pathologic scar formation with pharmacologic intervention. The clinical research focuses on improving outcomes from surgical intervention for the most common craniofacial anomalies.
