Supporting Your Transition to the United States

When you’re starting a new job, it’s natural to feel both excited and nervous—especially if you’re relocating to a new country. At Cincinnati Children’s, we offer numerous resources to help make your transition to the U.S. as smooth and seamless as possible.

Internal Resources

Our postdoctoral fellows have access to various services at Cincinnati Children’s and the University of Cincinnati:

  • Our immigration services staff can help you apply for a visa, request a Social Security number, open a bank account, understand the U.S. tax system and much more.
  • Members of our Postdoctoral Association offer peer-to-peer support to all new and established postdocs. For example, we’ll connect you with other international trainees and invite you to social activities.
  • Staff from the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs can help you understand which grants you’re eligible for based on your citizenship status and connect you with career development resources.
