Prerequisite Training
All candidates must be dedicated to a career in pediatric neurogastroenterology and motility disorders and have the following prerequisite training:
- Three-year residency in pediatrics
- Three-year fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology
International fellows applying from international GME programs need to be ECFMG-certified.
Application Process
To be considered, please submit the following documents:
- Up-to-date CV (resume)
- Personal statement describing your interest in the program, training experience and future career plans involving pediatric neurogastroenterology and motility disorders
- Two letters of recommendation, one from your current fellowship director or division director.
Please send all materials via email to fellowship director Khalil El-Chammas, MD, at khalil.el-chammas@cchmc.org by January 1.
Evaluation Process
All completed applications are reviewed by our fellowship committee. It is the continuing policy of Cincinnati Children’s to afford full equal employment opportunities to qualified employees and applicants, regardless of their race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, physical or mental handicaps, military or veteran status, sexual preference or any other protected condition or characteristic in conformity with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Once all applications have been discussed, our program coordinator will contact a select number of candidates to arrange a series of virtual interviews as the next step in the evaluation process.
Virtual interviews will span two days. You will meet with various faculty and multidisciplinary members, with each video session lasting approximately 30 minutes.
If an offer is made, our program coordinator will connect you with our Graduate Medical Education Office to make final arrangements and provide resources to help you find housing and make your transition to Cincinnati as smooth as possible.
The fellowship program begins on July 1.
