Working Together to Improve the Health of Fragile Newborns
The birth of a baby is one of life’s greatest joys. But for parents whose newborn comes into the world too soon or struggles with birth defects, it can be a time of great anxiety. We created the Perinatal Institute to give infants who get off to a difficult start the chance to survive and thrive – and to give their parents peace of mind.
We are a regional and national leader in setting the standard for neonatal care. Our Neonatology program is ranked in the top ten in the nation by US News and World Report. We staff newborn nurseries in all the Greater Cincinnati hospitals and are involved in all aspects of care for newborns. We work on a local and national level to align efforts in public health, clinical care, quality improvement and research to decrease the incidence of prematurity and birth defects, and to improve the health of all newborn babies.
