Home Health Agency
Kids just want to be kids, even when they need healthcare. The Home Care nursing staff of Cincinnati Children’s makes this possible, providing expert medical care in the privacy and comfort of your own home.
Our staff schedules visits around your schedule, providing in-home nurse visits and support seven days a week. Home Health Agency nurses provide short-term care to patients in their own homes, with skilled nursing visits lasting four hours or less.
Our pediatric nurses know that every child, from infant to adolescent, is different. We work to meet the unique needs of the families we serve by involving them every step of the way.
What to Expect During Your First Home Visit
Thank you for choosing Cincinnati Children’s Home Health Agency for your child’s care. To make your first visit easier, we would like to describe the nurse visit to your home and what to expect.
Our staff will call you to schedule your first appointment. Your nurse will confirm the appointment time and your address then arrive at your home at the appointed time. The nurse will bring all necessary equipment, supplies and medicines to treat your child as ordered by your physician, unless a delivery has been arranged.
Your nurse will have written forms for you to review and sign, as well as a packet of important information to help you participate in the plan of care for your child’s treatment.
How Long Will My Visit Take?
Your nurse will be in your home between one and four hours, depending on the treatment your child will be receiving.
How To Prepare For My Visits
It is important to be available during your scheduled appointments. Nursing visits require a parent or guardian in the home at all times during the in-home treatment.
