Fetal and Maternal Research
Research drives new and innovative methods for treating fetal abnormalities and maternal health conditions associated with high-risk pregnancies. It leads to new procedures, improved health outcomes and new hope for mothers and babies facing high-risk pregnancy.
We are dedicated to the development of future cellular and molecular fetal therapies. The Center for Fetal and Placental Research, part of the Cincinnati Children’s Research Foundation, is the basic science research area for the Cincinnati Children's Fetal Care Center. Our researchers are exploring the use of gene therapy for untreatable conditions such as cystic fibrosis and placental insufficiency.
