Seminars, Meetings and Retreats
The Mary Ellen & Tom Cody Lecture Series
The Heart Institute and Division of Molecular Cardiovascular Biology hosts a monthly seminar series where invited speakers present cutting edge cardiovascular research on Thursday afternoons. The series is made possible by a generous donation from Mary Ellen and Tom Cody. Speakers with clinical research relevance also present their work at The Heart Institute Grand Rounds at noon on Mondays. During the speaker’s visit, MCB students and research fellows have the opportunity to meet and discuss their work with world leaders in cardiovascular research.

The Molecular Cardiovascular Biology Floor Meeting
The MCB floor meeting provides students and research fellows from MCB labs the opportunity to present their research results to the entire Heart Institute.
Heart Institute Research Retreat
The annual Heart Institute Retreat includes presentations of cutting edge research by faculty in cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery and molecular cardiovascular biology. Students, cardiology fellows and research fellows present their work during an afternoon poster session and happy hour. Clinical and research trainees also make oral presentations to the group. The Retreat is held in the Kingsgate Conference Center and provides clinical, translational, and basic science researchers the opportunity to share research results, establish collaborations, and discuss research directions related to improving child health.
