Current Projects
The Herro Research Lab has several broad research areas and objectives, including:
Project 1: Investigate the impact of TNF superfamily members and the metabolic reprograming of T cells on airway remodeling associated with severe asthma.
Project 2: Investigate the impact of the microbiome on atopic diseases.
Project 3: Investigate the impact of senescent fibroblasts in cancer.
Project 4: Investigate whether liver fibrosis is different in chronic versus acute liver injuries.
Project 5: Determine novel pathways involved in regression of fibrosis.
Project 6: Investigate the TNF superfamily member involvement in tissue fibrosis, in models of Scleroderma, Atopic dermatitis, Psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and colitis, Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE), Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), hepatotoxicant inuries, and myelofrosis.
