Powers Research Lab
The Powers Lab is focused on clinical trials and translational research that leads to an evidence-base that changes clinical practice. Our high-impact research utilizes interventions including bio-behavioral therapies, mind-body therapies, medication treatments, and dietary adherence in children and youth with migraines and young children with chronic illnesses such as cystic fibrosis.
Our ongoing research work focuses on:
- Brain and somatosensory mechanisms of how cognitive behavioral therapy improves outcomes in youth with migraines
- Translation of efficacious bio-behavioral treatment into mobile health (m-health) platforms
- Novel application of adaptive intervention trial designs including multiphase optimization strategy (MOST) and sequential, multiple assignment, randomized trials (SMART)
