Research on Eating Behavior and Health Equity for Youth and Families

The Bejarano lab focuses on projects in the areas of eating behavior and health equity for youth and families. For example, we collect data on intraindividual, intergenerational and environmental factors that influence eating behavior, so that this can be harnessed to inform prevention and intervention efforts for both physical and psychosocial health.

Carolina Bejarano, PhD

I am a pediatric psychology researcher interested in eating behavior and how it relates to physical and psychosocial health for youth and families. I am particularly interested in the impact of food insecurity on dysregulated eating, with a focus on Hispanic / Latino adolescents and Spanish-speaking families. My research is also connected to the Cincinnati community in partnering with local nonprofits focusing on food access.
