Childhood Trust
The Childhood Trust is a joint effort of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and the University of Cincinnati Academic Health Center dedicated to providing innovative professional education, consultation and treatment related to the impact of traumatic stress on children, adolescents and their families / caregivers. The Childhood Trust is committed to working closely with community agencies and programs to support the goal of decreasing the number of adverse experiences in the lives of children.
The Childhood Trust is composed of faculty and staff from Cincinnati Children's and the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Cincinnati Academic Health Center who bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in child maltreatment. These individuals focus on disseminating evidence-based interventions, research, programming and information through four interrelated areas: assessment, treatment, training and consultation.
The following programs are available through the Childhood Trust:
- Strategic Humane Intervention Program
- Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
- Trauma and Grief Component Therapy for Adolescents (TGCTA)
- Child and Adult Relationship Enhancement (CARE)
- Consultation on all programs
Each program makes a unique contribution to promoting positive outcomes for children and their caregivers by supplementing existing programs in our communities and providing support and skills for professionals.
