Cincinnati Children’s named Most Wired Hospital for 2016
Cincinnati Children’s has been recognized as one of Healthcare’s Most Wired by Hospitals & Health Networks for the fifth year in a row.
As a top-100 Most Wired hospital, Cincinnati Children’s continues to be a leader in developing technological resources for successful implementation and use throughout the following areas:
- Infrastructure
- Business and administrative management
- Clinical quality and safety (inpatient/outpatient hospital)
- Clinical integration (ambulatory/physician/patient/community)

The Most Wired survey is a leading industry barometer, measuring information technology and adoption among hospitals nationwide. This survey of 680 participants represents an estimated 2,146 hospitals with more than 34 percent of them in the US. Among the key findings this year:
- More than 25 percent of hospitals use internet-enabled monitoring devices for chronic disease management of congestive heart failure, diabetes and heart disease
- 68 percent accept patient-generated data through the patient portal
- 53 percent interface electronic health record data with population health tools
- 61 percent use social media to provide support groups.
