Quality Scholars Program in Healthcare Transformation
At Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, we aim to develop researchers and leaders to transform pediatric health and health care delivery.
Goal
- Develop the next generation of faculty leaders who will advance the scholarship of health care improvement
Objectives
Develop conceptual, methodological, practical and leadership skills to:
- Design, develop, test, sustain, scale and evaluate effective interventions in health care delivery
- Undertake research that creates new knowledge and translates evidence of improved approaches in health care settings
- Teach improvement science methodologies and lead organizations engaged in continuous improvement
- Engage in learning health networks to accelerate innovation and improvement across populations
Candidates
The Cincinnati Children’s Quality Scholars Program in Healthcare Transformation seeks postdoctoral scholars in children’s health care, including medicine, surgery, public health, the social sciences, nursing, pharmacy and other allied health areas. More than 75 percent of time is dedicated for the duration of the program (two to three years). Eligible candidates include:
- Postdoctoral scholars in children’s health care (medicine, surgery, public health, the social sciences, nursing, pharmacy and other allied health areas)
- Faculty and fellows
Two Training Tracks
Independent Improvement Investigator
The goals of the independent improvement investigator are to:
- Build extraordinary research and improvement capability in faculty who will transform health and the health care delivery system for children through execution and leadership in innovative health services, outcomes and implementation research
- Upon program completion, scholars will be prepared to write a career-development award (preliminary research aims and career development activities delineated)
System-Wide Improvement Leader
The goals of the system-wide improvement leader are to:
- Build extraordinary improvement capability in faculty who will transform health and the health care delivery system for children through leadership and implementation of innovations in healthcare improvement
- Upon program completion, scholars will be recognized improvement leaders in their microsystem with potential and training to be a system-wide leader in three to five years
