Pediatric Anesthesia for the Practicing Anesthesiologist (PAPA)

The Department of Anesthesia at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center offers a one- to two-week hands-on course for the practicing anesthesiologist.

Our renowned faculty will work one on one with course participants as they share their knowledge, experience and expertise in the full spectrum of pediatric anesthesia care. Each educational experience is individualized to meet the specific needs of the participant.

The PAPA Program provides a unique opportunity to:

  • Work in a world-class tertiary pediatric facility
  • Participate in dynamic lectures and case studies
  • Work one on one with leading practitioners in pediatric anesthesia care

The program is held on the campus of Cincinnati Children’s. Each session has no more than two participants. Registration must be confirmed one month before beginning your program.

Faculty

The Department of Anesthesia at Cincinnati Children’s is one of the nation’s leaders in pediatric anesthesia. Our renowned faculty of anesthesiologists and our large and diverse case load provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity for training in pediatric anesthesiology.

Education and Research

In addition to our clinical strength, our education and research programs are well known. The department current has 12 ACGME-accredited first year pediatric anesthesiology fellows and 5 advanced fellows in Cardiac Anesthesia, Quality Improvement, Palliative Care, Pain, and Education. The research arm of our department, the Pediatric Anesthesiology Research Center, employs six research and support faculty dedicated to investigation.
