Neuro-Oncology Fellowship Curriculum

The core curriculum of the fellowship program may be completed in one year, with an optional second year for selected fellows to continue to pursue mentored clinical/translational or laboratory research projects.

Trainees will gain extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of pediatric patients with brain tumors and in clinical/translational research, with significant emphases on tumor biology, pharmacokinetics and pharmacogenetics, and pre-clinical and clinical drug development, including state-of-the-art clinical trial design incorporating novel assays and/or pharmacodynamics endpoints.

Trainees will also be closely mentored in the initial development of a pediatric Pilot/Phase I clinical trial and the appropriate extramural funding applications (e.g., NIH R21 grants).
