Urgent Message Notification system for community providers

Community providers and staff can now opt-in to a new Urgent Message Notification System. It enables Cincinnati Children’s to communicate same-day, urgent information using SMS text messaging.

To Opt-In to Urgent Messages please submit the following information. You will receive a ‘welcome message’ after registration (please allow 1-2 business days for processing). You can Opt-Out at any time.

Our definition of ‘urgent’ is very narrow.  It includes same-day system events that could disrupt patient care or flow of patient information.  Examples that would generate an urgent text notification are:

  • unexpected site closures (and re-opening)
  • network outages impacting the flow of patient information
  • extreme inpatient or emergency room census affecting patient flow

While we cannot predict the future, we estimate the maximum need for urgent communication as 1-2 times/month.
