Obstructive Sleep Apnea Treatment Algorithms
The Complex Obstructive Sleep Apnea Center at Cincinnati Children’s strives to provide and create the gold standard for treatment for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) without large tonsils. This typically includes infants who have not yet developed large tonsils or children whose tonsils have been removed.
We work closely with referring physicians to coordinate care, and have developed treatment algorithms as a multidisciplinary team to serve as a resource for our physician partners. The treatment algorithms are intended to standardize care and improve patient outcomes based on evidence and experience.
These algorithms show the treatment options for patients with mild, moderate and severe OSA without large tonsils based on the results of a child’s overnight sleep study (polysomnogram/PSG) test and initial clinic visit. If you have questions or would like to speak with one of our experts, call us.
