Advancing the Practice of Pediatric Dentistry

When your child has special dental care needs, they will receive state-of-the-art oral care from our team. Unlike many dental practices, all our locations are fully equipped to accommodate limited mobility, mental challenges and medical conditions ranging from cancer to seizure disorders. In addition to providing treatment, we conduct research and train future leaders of the field.

Comprehensive Dental Care for Children

For over 100 years, Cincinnati Children’s has had a ‘Dental Clinic’. We are continuing the strong tradition and are pleased to provide comprehensive dental care to your child, including emergency trauma care 24-hours a day, orthodontic care and a host of specialist consultants in Endodontics, Esthetic Dentistry and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.

We also work collaboratively with medical teams to serve children with complex medical, mental, social and physical challenges.

If our team feels your child would benefit from it, we can offer dental treatment under sedation or general anesthesia. Additionally, we have immediate access to medical support from the wide range of specialties at Cincinnati Children’s.

National Recognition

Our Division of Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics is part of a nationally recognized Craniofacial Team, caring for children and young adults with abnormalities of the head, face and mouth. Elizabeth Gosnell, DMD, MS serves as the team pediatric dentist and Jue Wang, DDS, PhD serves as the team orthodontist. Our department also serves as a skilled regional resource for sedation and anesthesia for young and apprehensive patients.

All our full and part-time faculty are board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD) and are involved in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD).

Important Note - Walk In Clinic

Dentistry has made a change to our walk in clinic beginning August 27, 2021. Walk in appointments are limited to patients with dental trauma or facial swelling caused by a dental infection that require immediate attention. Please schedule appointments for any dental concerns that do not require immediate attention, by contacting us.

Residency Program

The Division of Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics offers an internationally recognized residency program in Pediatric Dentistry. Seven residents are accepted each year for the two-year program.
