Standing Taller: Abby's Story
Abby’s scoliosis was first discovered by her ballet teacher. Amy Lay, Abby's mother, talks about how they sought treatment from various institutions before coming to the Crawford Spine Center at Cincinnati Children's.
The Lay's were referred to Peter Sturm, MD, MBA, as someone who could help. Sturm, who has been treating adolescents with scoliosis for 30 years, had good news for the Lays. Newer techniques limited the time Abby had to be away from what she loves. After treatment, she now stands tall without the worry of scoliosis being in her way.
