Cincinnati Children's is conducting a research study, sometimes known as a clinical trial or clinical study, to compare the effectiveness of two websites in assisting caregivers with planning for the future of the care recipient. We will also be comparing the impact of these websites on improving the overall well-being of the family.
Adult caregivers of a child or adult who is at least ten years old with an intellectual or developmental disability.
You will be randomly assigned to one of the two websites. You will be asked to log onto the website at least weekly for 3 months and complete a series of surveys four times over the course of 18 months. This study can be completed entirely at home.
You and the care recipient may or may not receive any benefits from taking part in the study. However, this study may help you in planning for the long-term care of the recipient and contribute to improving the well-being of you and your family.
It is not expected that you or your child will be exposed to any risk by participating in this research study.
A detailed list of risks will be provided to those participants interested in knowing more about this study.
Participants will receive up to $175 for their time and effort in this study.
