Cincinnati Children's is conducting a research study to learn more about the safety and efficacy of an investigational drug for individuals diagnosed with Tourette's Disorder. We want to see if this study drug can help stop tics (involuntary movements or sounds) for individuals affected by Tourette's Disorder.
Children and adults ages 6 and up who are diagnosed with Tourette’s Disorder and who:
If you or your child qualifies and you decide you want your child or yourself to be in the study, you will come to Cincinnati Children’s at least 15 times over a period of 7 months. Study participants will also receive 2 telephone calls during the study. Most visits will last about 4 hours, but some may last up to 6 hours. You or your child may receive no direct benefit from participating in this study. However, we hope to learn information from the study that may help us with more effective treatments for Tourette’s Disorder in the future. Research studies are essential in finding new and improved treatments and diagnostic tools.
Possible risks and discomforts will be discussed with those interested in learning more about the study.
Participants and caregivers will be compensated for their time and effort. The participant receives $50 for each completed visit and $67.50 for any unscheduled visit. Caregivers will receive $93.75 for each visit their child completes.
