Mobile Care Center takes medical services on the road
Cincinnati Children’s launched a new Mobile Care Center in November to deliver pediatric subspecialty services to local and regional communities. These are areas that are underserved or have transportation barriers that make it difficult for families to access care at our sites.
Although thousands of mobile health clinics operate in the United States, this new 38-foot long, coach-style vehicle, is one of the few in the nation to focus on pediatric subspecialty care. Initially, the Mobile Care Center will provide pediatric heart care but will expand to other services next spring.
The center features the highest quality care delivered by the same providers patients might see at any of our sites. It features:
- Two private exam rooms
- Medical and diagnostic testing equipment for select services
- Laboratory testing capabilities
- Secure provider access to medical records for patients who have been seen at another one of our locations
- Handicap accessible wheelchair lift, with staff available to assist
The center began operation this month in Seaman, Ohio, with a pediatric heart clinic, staffed by the Heart Institute employees.
