The Cerebral Palsy clinic at Cincinnati Children’s has been recognized as a patient-centered specialty practice. Only one in six primary care physicians in the US practices in a National Health Care Accreditation (NCQA)-recognized practice. Cincinnati Children’s is the second cerebral palsy practice to receive this recognition. Special thanks to Jilda Vargus-Adams, MD, MSc, clinic director; Douglas Kinnett, MD, director, Spasticity Management; and Andrea Paulson, MD, MPH, assistant professor, for leading this effort.
Erin Hickey, MD, a second-year resident, has received the Academic Pediatric Association’s Young Investigator Award for her work on addressing food insecurity urgently within a clinic visit. Her project began at the Hopple Street Clinic and has spread to the Pediatric Primary Care Center. The award includes a grant for nearly $2,500. Cincinnati Children’s has agreed to match it.
