Nerissa E. Morris named senior vice president and chief human resources officer
Nerissa E. Morris has accepted the senior vice president and chief human resources officer (CHRO) position, effective April 30.
Morris recently served as the vice president of Human Resources at the University of Miami (FL), a $3.2 billion enterprise with over 15,000 faculty and staff, including the university’s health system. From 2009 through 2017, she led university-wide human resources operations and implemented robust plans for culture transformation, employee recognition, wellness, diversity and inclusion, talent acquisition, and leadership development.
Prior to her role at the University of Miami, Morris worked for the Ford Motor Company for 22 years. She held senior human resources positions in the US, Sweden, and Brazil, serving various Ford business units, including Global Information Technology, Volvo Car Corporation Research and Development, Marketing and Sales, and the Leadership Development Center.
Morris received recognition as a Human Resources Power Leader by the South Florida Business Journal in 2016 and 2017 and was named one of South Florida’s 50 Most Powerful Black Professionals by Success South Florida Magazine. Her civic and professional affiliations have included board of directors positions with the American Red Cross of Greater Miami and the Keys and The College & University Professional Association for Human Resources. She is also a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, The A.K. Rice Institute, Women Executive Leadership South Florida, among others.
