Use these tips to help prepare for your child’s outpatient procedures.
Frequently Asked Questions
What time should we arrive?
Arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment unless you are asked to check in earlier.
What paperwork should we bring?
- Medication card listing all prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, vitamins and supplements your child is taking
- Insurance card and a form of payment
- Consent to provide care
What if I don’t have insurance?
If your child does not have health insurance, we may be able to provide financial assistance. Call our financial counselors at 513-636-0201 before your appointment.
Need home medical equipment?
For assistance with home medical equipment, please contact Home Care Services at 513-636-4663.
Can we bring a service animal?
Service animals may accompany you in public areas of Cincinnati Children’s. For more information, contact Risk Management at 513-636-4707 or our Infection Control Program at 513-636-8492.
Do you help with travel?
Our Concierge Services offers assistance with your travel plans, finds lodging and coordinates and schedules multiple appointments when your child needs to see several specialists in separate divisions.
What if the patient is over age 18?
Patients 18 or older who have the ability to make an informed decision have the right to make their own medical treatment decisions and draft an advance directive.
