eVisits at a Glance
Cincinnati Children’s is one of the first pediatric hospitals to offer eVisits—a convenient and efficient way to have follow-up care with select providers using online questionnaires initiated through MyChart. (Video is not needed/utilized).
How Do eVisits Work?
- Your child's care team will let you know if an eVisit is available for your type of appointment.
- You will then log in to MyChart through your phone, computer or tablet and select eVisit on your home screen, then complete the questionnaire.
- After you complete the questionnaire, your provider will review the information you submitted within seven days and message back if any other follow-up is needed.
- eVisits are billable encounters covered by Ohio Medicaid, as well as many private payors. You may receive a bill depending on your insurance coverage; reach out to your insurance provider for more information.
What Are the Benefits of eVisits?
When clinically appropriate, eVisits offer several benefits:
- Convenience: eVisits allow you to receive care without the need for a scheduled appointment and eliminate the need to travel or miss time from school/work.
- Enhanced Patient Engagement: By using eVisits, you often have more time to articulate your concerns and questions.
- Accessible Documentation: eVisits generate recorded documentation, which can be valuable for future reference. You can access your medical records easily, review instructions or recommendations, and share the information with other healthcare providers as needed.
