Cincinnati Children’s Loveland Primary Care has begun seeing pediatric patients, and the opening of the new location was celebrated today with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that included local families, medical providers and government officials.
“We are pleased to join the Loveland and Symmes Township community and bring world-class pediatric healthcare closer to home,” said Evaline Alessandrini, MD, chief operating officer. “Our primary care providers work closely with specialists at Cincinnati Children’s for more advanced care options if our patient families need them.”
Krista Allen, MD, lead physician for Cincinnati Children’s Loveland Primary Care, said many area patient families who had driven to other locations operated by the health system have registered to be seen at the new clinic at 10554 Loveland-Madeira Road.
“It’s closer to where they live,” Dr. Allen said. “The location also provides convenient access for families in Montgomery, Indian Hill, Milford, Goshen, Maineville and many other nearby communities.
“The clinic will mostly be staffed by myself and two wonderful nurse practitioners, Nicole Cameron and Erin Sayer,” Dr. Allen said. “We are accepting new patients. Two other Cincinnati Children’s pediatricians, Dr. Ronna Schneider and Dr. Robert Wallace, will have some clinical time in Loveland but are not accepting new patients at this time.
“In addition, we’re excited that a behavioral health therapist will join us in mid-June,” Dr. Allen said. “Some kids struggle with anxiety and organizational skills, so it’s nice to have an easily accessible behavioral health resource available to them at their medical home.”
The medical providers will offer regular checkups, sick visits, preventive screenings and vaccinations for children, ranging from newborns through adolescence.
Cincinnati Children’s Loveland Primary Care is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For an appointment, call 513-336-6700.
The clinic, near the intersection with East Kemper Road, is easily accessible from Interstate 275’s Exit 52 by Lake Isabella. Cincinnati Children’s secured a long-term lease for the building in the Symmes Gate Station shopping center, which previously housed a CVS pharmacy but was renovated into a medical office.
Sixteen Cincinnati Children’s employees now work at the Loveland location, including registered nurses, medical assistants and patient access representatives. The workforce will expand with the patient base. Cincinnati Children’s Loveland Primary Care will eventually accommodate up to 25,000 patient visits annually, said Jeff Anderson, MD, senior vice president and chief Population Health officer. The building encompasses 10,125 square feet, which affords space to accommodate growth.
The health system invested about $6 million to design and renovate the building into a clinic. Design partners were GBBN Architects, KFI Engineers, RCF Group and Kolar Design. Triversity Construction handled the buildout.
Groups of students from Loveland City Schools created art to help decorate Cincinnati Children’s Loveland Primary Care. “I’m happy that kids who are sick or hurt are able to see artwork that comes from the community,” said Noah, an eighth-grader who participated in the project.
Cincinnati Children’s also offers pediatric primary care in Anderson Township, Avondale, Batesville, Centerville, Cold Spring, Fairfield, Greensburg, Kenwood, Liberty Township, Mason, North Fairmount, Southgate, Springdale, Union, Ky., and Wilmington as well as at three school-based health centers in Cincinnati.
