Letter from the President

Cincinnati Children's hospital.

Thanks to a visionary gift from William Cooper Procter nearly a century ago and the ongoing support of donors like you, we’ve improved care, developed cures and given the gift of happier, healthier children together.

Letter from the President

Spring always brings a renewed sense of hope. And this season, over a year since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, our hope for a brighter and healthier future is especially heartfelt.

Thanks to friends like you, who were there to give support through all the highs and lows, we continued improving outcomes for kids through quality, compassionate, unwavering care.

This year also marks the 90th anniversary of our Research Foundation, established by a visionary donor who understood that you can’t have great care without great research. The building was the first of its kind when it opened in 1931, and we’re celebrating decades of achievements in child health by honoring the crucial role our supporters play in advancing breakthrough discoveries—from the 1930s, to the present day, and well into the future.

In this issue, you’ll learn more about how you help us pursue bold, new research ideas sometimes before they’re eligible for government funding, and how together we advance the pace of discovery.

We’ll also share our latest pursuits in innovative treatments, such as FLASH proton radiation—which could improve cancer care for children and adults alike.

We believe our best discoveries are yet to come, and donors like you are a critical part of our care team. Together, we’ll never stop moving forward for children.

Thank you for all you do.
