Letter from the President
Friends,
Behind every child needing specialized treatment, there’s a big question waiting to be asked.
That’s why research is at the heart of everything we do.
Here at Cincinnati Children’s, research and collaboration drive our world-class care. From common childhood conditions to life-threatening diseases that demand the most complex care, our clinicians and researchers are at the forefront of innovation and discovery.
Our commitment to the children and families we serve, combined with support from friends like you, has led to many remarkable achievements. Some recent standouts include:
- Being named the #3 pediatric hospital in the nation by U.S. News & World Report for the seventh consecutive year
- Publishing four articles in the New England Journal of Medicine—a testament to the groundbreaking and exemplary research we do
- Announcing plans for our new Critical Care Building and dedicating resources to ensure we can continue to provide exceptional care for our most fragile patients
As we look toward the future, we are renewing our commitment to be the best at getting better. We’re focused on initiatives that will reduce healthcare costs for families; improve the patient, family and employee experience; and bolster innovation in care and discovery. You’ll see many of these themes throughout this issue of For the Children—from a cutting-edge program that’s helping cancer survivors to the family-centered work we’re doing right here in our neighborhood of Avondale.
I’m proud of all that we have achieved together, and even more so of the fact that we’re not resting on these accolades. Your support enables us to continue asking big questions, finding innovative answers and providing outstanding care for every child and family who relies on us for hope and healing.
Gratefully,
Michael Fisher
President & Chief Executive Officer
