I am a pediatric anesthesiologist at Cincinnati Children’s.
As a cancer survivor, I know being a patient is stressful. I am deeply committed to working with each of my patients and families to customize our anesthetic approach to make the perioperative experience as pleasant as possible.
I am fortunate to have been mentored by many talented physicians, including my father, an orthopaedic surgeon; Steven Hall, MD, the former chief of Anesthesiology at Lurie Children’s Hospital; and Theodore (Ted) Striker, MD, the former chief of Anesthesiology at Cincinnati Children’s.
My medical interests include education, international medicine, wellness and physician mental health. As the chair of the professional health committee at Cincinnati Children’s, I play a central role in program development in these areas.
My research focuses on how we measure technical competency in medicine. I am also interested in developing best practices when working with behaviorally challenged adults and children in the perioperative setting. I collaborate with the Lindner Center of Hope to determine how to best serve the needs of clinicians with mental health issues.
When I’m not working, I spend time cooking and metalsmithing. I’m also into physical fitness.
