I'm a nurse practitioner in the Division of Pediatric Surgery, specializing in caring for patients with intestinal failure. I follow patients with a multidisciplinary team on floors throughout the hospital and in the neonatal intensive care unit.
When I was about 10 years old, I met a pediatric nurse practitioner for the first time. She was very impressive and intelligent. It inspired me to become a nurse practitioner. I was previously a nurse on unit A4S, caring for gastrointestinal (GI) and colorectal patients from 2009 to 2016. I enjoyed caring for the intestinal failure population, so it was a great fit to care for them as a nurse practitioner when I moved back to Cincinnati.
It's essential to listen to patients and their families. I value the intuition and experience they bring to medical care and respect their opinions.
I'm honored to have received the Patient Education and Advocacy Award from Cincinnati Children’s (2015) and to be a Margi Morse Care Award nominee at Children's Hospital Colorado (2021).
In my free time, I like being outside, running, hiking, biking, paddleboarding and walking my golden retriever, Mia. If I am not at the hospital, I'm likely on an outdoor adventure.
