As an advanced practice registered nurse, I treat heart failure patients and those who need a heart transplant. I actively listen to my patient’s needs and concerns. I also use a shared decision-making approach with patients, their families and other medical team members.
My mother was a nurse and she inspired me to go into the medical field. I fell in love with pediatrics when working as a bedside nurse in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and knew I wanted to continue to work with kids and their families as a nurse practitioner.
We provide advanced cardiac care for patients with genetic or acquired cardiomyopathy, a heart muscle disease. Our team supports patients through the healthcare continuum with advanced cardiac therapies and transplantation.
In my research, we are currently looking at tools to triage oncology to cardiology.
When I’m not working, I love spending time with my twins and my dachshund, Leo.
