I’m a licensed independent social worker with supervision designation (LISW-S) providing school-based mental health services. I work with all ages, from kindergarten to high school. My treatment approach experience includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), motivational interviewing (MI) and solution-focused therapy (SFBT).
I graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Florida State University (2017), where I served as the Association of Student Social Workers president. During my undergraduate degree, I was awarded the Elizabeth J. Piccard BSW Student of the Year for exceptional demonstration of service, academics and commitment to the field of social work. I graduated with a Master of Social Work degree also from Florida State University (2018). Following graduation, my family and I moved from Florida to Ohio. I have worked in various roles, including crisis response, individual and family therapy, group therapy and medical social work.
Why social work? My why is — people. I’m passionate about working with people and empowering them through the difficulties that come with life. I always aim to provide a safe space that encourages healing and growth. My approach when working with patients is to recognize each person's unique qualities. I use different therapeutic techniques depending on the needs of the child. I enjoy learning the new and best ways to help the families I work with, so I engage in training as often as I can.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, two children and our dogs. We love traveling, trying new foods and engaging with our community. My favorite pastime is reading a good book with a great cup of coffee.
