As a pediatric oncology nurse practitioner, I work primarily with patients who are admitted to our inpatient oncology units. I care for patients from all of our disease teams: solid tumors, neuro-oncology and leukemia/lymphoma. I believe pediatric oncology requires a partnership between care providers, patients and families, so we can work together on the best plan of care that meets the medical and family needs of the patient.
I think a cancer diagnosis for a child is one of the most stressful experiences for a family. I feel honored to care for kids during their treatment journey and continue to be impressed and inspired by my patients' resilience. This feeling is one of the best things about working in pediatrics!
I work with an amazing team of physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, dieticians, social workers and others. When coming for cancer care at Cincinnati Children’s, patients connect with an entire team of providers who have each child's best interests at heart. We work together to ensure children receive the most up-to-date treatment, care and support throughout the treatment course.
I also currently serve as the oncology APRN lead for our inpatient and Liberty APRNs, as well as our proton therapy APRNs.
In my free time, I enjoy running and coaching a grade-school track team, as well as spending time with my family.
