About

Biography

My clinical specialty is pediatric primary care. I’m fortunate to have dedicated my career to fulfilling a lifelong ambition of caring for children from birth through adolescence. As a board-certified pediatrician, I began my practice in Wilmington, Ohio, in 1988 after completing my residency at Dayton Children’s Hospital. From an early age, I knew working with children was my calling. Growing up in Youngstown, Ohio, I saw firsthand how poverty and its associated social challenges deeply impacted children’s lives. This inspired me to pursue a career in pediatrics, where I could make a meaningful difference.

My dream became a reality when I accepted my first and only position as a pediatrician in Wilmington. I fell in love with this community, which has been my home ever since. I was drawn to the opportunity to practice in a rural setting where pediatric care was scarce. Over the years, our practice grew to meet the needs of this underserved area, and I developed lifelong bonds with many of my patients and their families—relationships I deeply cherish. Unfortunately, in recent years, several pediatricians have retired or pursued opportunities outside the community, creating a shortage of pediatric care. With Cincinnati Children’s presence in Wilmington, this scarcity will hopefully become a thing of the past.

I believe every child deserves the highest standard of care regardless of their background. I’m so excited to join Cincinnati Children’s, a world-renowned institution whose mission to improve children’s health aligns with my values. With their support, we’ll be able to bring additional pediatricians to our rural community, provide access to top specialists, and ensure continuity of care with more office appointments available throughout the week. This is a pivotal moment for me, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve as the medical lead in the Wilmington office as part of the Cincinnati Children’s team.

Outside of my practice, I am a devoted family man. I spend much of my free time with my wife and adult children, enjoying outdoor activities like hiking, tennis and pickleball. I also find joy in gardening, vacationing with my wife, caring for my koi pond, snorkeling, biking and spending time with my three grandchildren.
