As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I specialize in pediatric orthopaedics, conservative management of scoliosis, treatment of runners and treatment of Irish dancers. I believe in a collaborative approach to care. My goal is that children and parents understand their current condition and the treatment strategies needed to return them to their maximum level of functioning in formal therapy and the community.
I have a passion for injury prevention and freedom through movement. Physical therapy creates opportunities for children to reach their potential through movement. I love the joy I see when a child develops a new skill or returns to a skill they could not participate in following an injury.
I empower my patients to realize their strengths. I incorporate my patient's personal goals within their plan of care, whether it be returning to a sport they love, being able to wear the shoes they want to a school dance, or feeling confident when they look in a mirror.
I’m also a scoliosis researcher. I strive to improve outcomes in the conservative management of scoliosis. We are studying the effect of scoliosis-specific exercise on long-term outcomes, quality of life and compliance with bracing.
When I’m not working, I enjoy getting lost in a good book, spending time outside, running local races and spending time with my family.
