When I was in high school, I had the opportunity to attend a Cincinnati Children’s symposium. After several interesting lectures, I decided the medical field is what I wanted to pursue. A few years later, I had the chance to shadow a physician assistant (PA). After several hours of observing his daily routine and learning what PAs are capable of doing, I decided that was the career for me!
As a PA, I specialize in first-assisting the surgeons during cardiac procedures. First-assisting means I work closely with the surgeon during the procedure. I also help patients get ready for surgery, as well as recover postoperatively. My care approach is to never stop learning, and to strive daily to better my practices. My prayer every day is that I can be the most effective PA I can be.
I enjoy spending my free time hiking and camping, and I enjoy a good adrenaline rush. I recently had the opportunity to go paragliding and whitewater rafting down a waterfall in New Zealand. I also enjoy spending time with my fiancée Jamie and my pup Annie.
