As a Neonatologist, I take care of all newborns, from healthy babies in the newborn nursery to very sick babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
I still remember my first rotation in the NICU. I cared for an infant who was very sick and needed a lot of support but was able to go home with minimal to no complications. That is how I became interested in this field. I understand that every decision that I make as physician will change babies’ lives for life and that is what motivates me every day.
In my practice, I strive to pay attention to every detail and to involve parents in decision-making.
I was honored to receive the following awards:
MD: University of Aleppo, Syria, 2002.
Pediatric Residency: State University of New York at Stony Brook, Stony Brook, NY, 2008.
Neonatal-Perinatal Fellowship: University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, Iowa City, IA, 2011.
Certifications: General Pediatrics, 2008; Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, 2012.
