As a pediatrician, I practice general pediatric care at Cincinnati Children’s primary care facilities. I treat everyone as if they are my personal friends. I take time to answer all questions and concerns—never rushing my patients—and make myself available for follow-up care.
I enjoy infants, children and adolescents and find their growth and development fascinating. I specialize in caring for children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). I tend to be straightforward with patients and their parents. To address concerns, I often pull from my experience as a mother of three to complement my knowledge as a pediatrician. I understand the importance of quality healthcare, continuity of care and good communication.
Watching my patients grow and mature over the years is very rewarding. I maintain contact with several former patients and enjoy hearing of their successes. Seeing my patients healthy and developing well makes me happy to come to work each day! During each visit, I discuss injury and disease prevention with my patient families to promote healthy lifestyles and safe practices for everyday living.
My work experience is quite varied. I have been in practice since 1992, working in Atlanta and Minnesota before landing in Cincinnati. I worked in private practice for 15 years, and before that, I worked at Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) for several years. I enjoy teaching and treating patients in all environments.
I have served as a supervisor and trainer for school nurses, medical students, residents and nurse practitioner students. In the past, I volunteered as a medical missionary in Haiti to help their underserved pediatric and adult population.
Outside work, I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, traveling with my husband (Dr. Paul Waller), reading and listening to music. As a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., I like helping the community through volunteer service projects organized by my sorority chapter.
