About

Biography

My clinical specialty is pediatric dermatology. I treat common skin diseases like eczema, acne and psoriasis, birthmarks and vascular malformations, rare genetic conditions like epidermolysis bullosa, and hair and nail disorders. My approach to care is rooted in compassion, positivity and patient-centered support. I strive to create a welcoming environment where children and families feel uplifted, valued and empowered. Known for my smile and positive energy, I aim to make each visit as comfortable and reassuring as possible. By combining expertise with empathy and clear communication, I'm committed to providing individualized care that supports every patient's unique needs and well-being.

I was only 9 years old when I could not understand why my hands and feet were always wet. I was so embarrassed by this problem as I could not shake hands with anyone or wear the shoes that I desired. Years later, I learned that I have hyperhidrosis and that visible skin differences can profoundly impact a person's confidence. One memorable case involved a seven-year-old boy with a giant congenital melanocytic nevus on his face. Despite his parents' acceptance, he faced bullying at school, which affected his mental health.

My passion for pediatric dermatology grew as I realized how much benign skin conditions affect children's mental health, and I found that discrimination based on appearance transverses all ethnicities and ages. I decided to deepen my knowledge and pursue further training in diagnosing and managing pediatric skin diseases because no child should suffer based solely on their appearance.

I have been privileged to receive numerous awards and honors throughout my academic and professional journey. Notable among these are the Pediatric Dermatology Research Alliance (PEDRA) Travel Scholarship Award (2023) and the Research Award from the Lebanese American University School of Medicine (2022). Earlier in my medical education, I was recognized with the Leadership Award and named to the Dean's Honor List multiple times. Beyond academics, I have actively contributed to my community through meaningful volunteer work. During my residency, I led fundraising efforts to support clinics in Lebanon, and I provided free medical consultations through the Health Outreach to the Middle East (H.O.M.E.) Clinic. My involvement in community and campus life has also included raising awareness about cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), organizing charity events and taking on leadership roles within medical student associations. These experiences have shaped my professional growth and deepened my commitment to making a positive impact through compassionate care and service.

My journey with Cincinnati Children's began as a visiting medical student, and I feel honored to return as a faculty member to the institution that initially inspired my path. I'm passionate about teaching and mentoring medical students and residents to help cultivate the next generation of compassionate dermatologists.

Fluent in English, French and Arabic, I value creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for patients and families from all backgrounds. I aim to create a space where children and families feel comfortable and understood, knowing they are in caring and knowledgeable hands. I'm here to listen, answer questions, and provide clear guidance, all while making each visit as positive as possible. I understand that skin conditions can impact both physical and emotional well-being, and I am dedicated to helping every patient find relief and confidence through compassionate, specialized care.

Outside work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, cooking, staying active at the gym, and traveling to explore new countries and cultures. You will find me booking a flight whenever I have two days off!
