As a pediatric eye doctor, I provide routine eye care for children. I see children who may have failed a vision screening and those who need glasses. As an optometrist, I specialize in amblyopia screenings and treatment, juvenile idiopathic arthritis screenings and treatment as well as fitting children for specialty contact lenses.
I am very down-to-earth and easy to talk to. When I’m seeing a patient, I like to find personal connections with the child and their family. I think this is an important way to build trust when I explain why a child needs to wear glasses or why I'm treating a child a certain way.
I always wanted to be in the medical profession and work with the general public. I have worn glasses most of my life and I went to my eye doctor every year — even before I wore glasses. When I was in optometry school, pediatric eye care entertained and interested me more than adult eye care.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family. We like bike rides, hiking and swimming. For my "me time" I enjoy meditation and yoga.
