About

Biography

My clinical specialty is pediatric nephrology and hypertension. I view each patient holistically in the context of their family and community. I try my best to be on time to use our appointed time effectively. I like working as a team, knowing the most important player on that team is the patient.

I grew up as the oldest of five and one of the oldest in a large group of cousins, so working with kids just seemed natural. My early inspiration to become a doctor stemmed from having a grandmother with type 1 diabetes mellitus. Even as a child, I put two and two together to realize that doctors helped people, and I could do that someday. The call to help others was hard to ignore, and I'm thankful for the opportunity to improve my patients' lives.

I’m honored to have received the Professor of the Year and the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine awards at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. I've received teaching and mentoring awards as well throughout my career.

When I’m not working, I love to ride my bicycle (with a helmet, of course!) and explore Cincinnati. I live near the University of Cincinnati campus and Cincinnati Children’s, which means I’m close to the river. I enjoy being near the water, finding good restaurants and farmer’s markets, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
