My passion for dentistry began at the age of 11, sparked by a dental science fair project in the sixth grade. This early interest laid the foundation for a career centered on healthcare and a lifelong commitment to patient care.
Before embarking on my journey in dentistry, I attended pharmacy school and worked as a hospital clinical pharmacist while pursuing my dental degree. This dual background provided me with a unique perspective on healthcare and patient management, enriching both my clinical practice and teaching.
After earning my dental degree, I practiced general dentistry and served as a faculty member in the Operative Dentistry Department at Indiana University School of Dentistry, where I taught third- and fourth-year dental students. During my two years of teaching, I refined my clinical instruction skills and developed a deep passion for mentoring future dental professionals.
Driven to specialize and address the unique needs of children, I completed a residency in pediatric dentistry at Cincinnati Children’s, followed by a fellowship in cleft palate care. My clinical interests include treating patients with craniofacial anomalies and providing comprehensive dental care for those with complex medical conditions.
I am dedicated to delivering compassionate dental care to infants, children, and adolescents, including those facing medical or behavioral challenges. With a strong focus on dental pharmacology and the pharmacologic management of patient behavior, I strive to provide a thoughtful and personalized approach to every patient encounter.
Outside of work, I cherish spending time with my wife, a talented dietitian, and our two sons. One son is an orthodontist, and the other is an industrial designer. I also enjoy bike riding, woodworking, watching basketball, playing pickleball, performing with the Cincinnati Civic Orchestra as a clarinetist, and traveling with my family.
