Train at a High-Volume Quaternary Center to Prepare for Board Certification

At Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, the pediatric surgery residency (fellowship) is a two-year training program that emphasizes a diverse clinical experience in a high-volume quaternary center. One resident is chosen each year through the National Resident Matching Program. The applicant must have completed an ACGME accredited general surgical training program and must be eligible to take the ABS qualifying examination given by the American Board of Surgery. Ours is one of the country’s longest standing pediatric surgery training programs, dating back to 1965. To date, more than 50 pediatric surgeons have been trained in the division.
